WSC has liability insurance to the value of £5M

 

Health and Safety
A Health and Safety briefing is given prior to the students starting work.
WSC will work with the school to ensure all the tools provided are acceptable to the school in terms of health and safety.  The vast majority of tools are hand tools, though battery drills are provided if required.  WSC will also bring a variety of other power tools and specialist hand tools to aid the progress of the students, though these are used solely by WSC staff or school staff.  The students will also be provided with, and instructed to wear safety equipment.

 

Working Practices
WSC staff will adhere to safe working practices at all times and will intervene if they feel a student is working unsafely and immediate intervention is required, in other circumstances a school staff member will be notified.  Whilst we are running the project a member of the Technology department staff must be present at all times.

 

Risk Assessments
A full risk assessment will be provided with the study pack.

 

PAT testing
All electrical equipment will be PAT tested and in date.
